About PROPEL

Founded in 2004, PROPEL (People Reaching Out to Provide Education and Leadership) has been serving underserved youth in South Palm Beach County for more than two decades. What began as a small mentoring program has grown into a trusted nonprofit that walks alongside middle and high school students, as well as alumni, to help them reach their full potential. Our mission is to empower leadership, academic success, career readiness and healthy living so students not only thrive today but build a strong foundation for tomorrow.

PROPEL provides after-school programs that combine tutoring, mentoring, enrichment and life-skills training. Summer camps keep students engaged and inspired during school breaks. Our college and career readiness programs offer scholarships, job placement support and workforce development opportunities, including entrepreneurship and certifications. Through our Healthy Living Initiative, students learn about nutrition, wellness and fitness while also preparing for hospitality and workforce pathways. Beyond graduation, PROPEL continues to support alumni through college and into adulthood, ensuring they always have a community to lean on.

Each year, PROPEL serves hundreds of students and their families, providing safe spaces, positive role models and opportunities for growth. The result is transformational - students who once faced limited opportunities are becoming college graduates, business owners and compassionate leaders giving back to their community.

WHO WE ARE

PROPEL is a nonprofit based in Boca Raton that empowers underserved middle school, high school and alumni students in South Palm Beach County. For more than 20 years, we’ve been transforming lives through education, mentorship and community - building relationships that last well beyond graduation.

WHAT WE DO

Academic Support

• Tutoring, SAT prep, scholarships and resources to help students succeed in school and prepare for college or career.

Leadership Development

• Mentorship, coaching and real-world experiences that shape confident, compassionate leaders.

Healthy Living

• Nutrition education, fitness and our signature Healthy Living Kitchen Initiative where students learn culinary, hospitality, and life skills.

Workforce & Alumni Support

• Job readiness training, entrepreneurship opportunities, and ongoing guidance for alumni in college and beyond.
