University of California, Irvine Program in Public Health

About Us

The Program in Public Health was established in 2003 to provide institutional focus for existing academic strengths in various sub-disciplines of public health, and to facilitate well-grounded education and innovative research in emerging aspects of the field. Under the Program in Public Health, undergraduate degree programs began enrolling students in 2006, and the Department of Population Health & Disease Prevention was established in 2007 to advance the collaborative interdisciplinary mission of public health research and education. The Department of Population Health & Disease Prevention currently offers a B.S. in Public Health Sciences, a B.A. in Public Health Policy, and a Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) in three concentrations: Environmental Health, Epidemiology, and Sociocultural Diversity and Health. The first cohort of M.P.H. students will enroll in Fall 2009. A minor in Public Health has also been proposed with a planned start date of Fall 2009. For more information on the undergraduate programs, please contact Ms. Dahlia Warman (dwarman@uci.edu). For more information about the graduate program, please contact Ms. Stephanie Uiga (suiga@uci.edu).
