Founded in 1992, ADF has produced an annual lecture series featuring internationally acclaimed designers, mounted exhibitions, orchestrated site-specific design and art projects, published a design journal and several books and raised funding for all those activities. ADF is composed of volunteers and an all-volunteer board of directors. ADF is based in Anchorage, Alaska and has branches in Fairbanks and Juneau.
