About Us

The International Comparative Labor Studies (ICLS) is a faculty-led program at Morehouse College was launched in 2017 to establish a labor studies program for students and worker education curriculum with leadership development and pathways into political economic justice careers, particularly with Morehouse College alumni mentorship. Morehouse College ICLS is partnering with Jobs With Justice Education Fund and the Black Worker Initiative of the Institute for Policy Studies, to develop the Advancing Black Strategists Initiative (ABSI). ABSI will further our collective work by creating skilled and knowledgeable strategists by providing pathways for cohorts of Black economic-justice and labor-focused organizers and scholar activists who are committed to leading, developing, and advancing policies and campaigns that support the collective power-building of working people, particularly in the South.
