Bark Nation's mission is simple: to end canine cruelty and save lives.

    About Us

Bark Nation is a non-profit animal welfare organization in the metro Detroit, MI area that operates within 3 pillars: shelter enrichment, shelter intervention and ending canine cruelty. Our shelter enrichment team provides thousands of enrichment items to shelters across Michigan and Ohio yearly during our KONGsgiving initiative. Our shelter intervention team provides free spay and neuter, microchips, vaccinations and city licenses to owned dogs within the city of Detroit to keep them in their homes and out of shelters, and reduce the homeless pet overpopulation. Our largest pillar, ending canine cruelty, includes operating a state of Michigan licensed confidential auxillairy shelter that houses up to 100 cruelty and dogfighting survivors at any given time. Our shelter runs primarily on volunteer support. We receive no government funding and rely solely on donations and public support.
