The Global Association of Economics Education was originally established as the Indochinese Economics Education Initiative (IEEI) in 2017. After two years of expanding across eight countries, IEEI incorporated in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as the Global Association of Economics Education and has been recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service. GAEE is listed in the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis's RePec (Research Papers in Economics) database of Economics Departments, Institutes and Research Centers in the World (EDIRC). It is also recognized as a CSO Partner of the United Nations' UNPP Program.
