Center for Jewish Culture and Social Justice

About Us

A thriving membership-based organization in the Boston area, the Workmen’s Circle Center for Jewish Culture and Social Justice is a secular Jewish community rooted in our shared commitment to a more just and humane world. By partnering Jewish culture, especially Yiddish, with progressive values, we have created a vibrant communal home and cultural center for families and activists. A central component of the Workmen’s Circle community is our Jewish cultural Sunday school – Shule. The Shule provides children in grades one through seven with a Jewish education structured around cultural heritage and a commitment to social justice as a core expression of Jewish identity and engagement. Serving 75-85 children each year, the Shule culminates in a collective, secular bar/bat mitzvah celebration.
