  • About Us

Founded in late 2007, Chicago Run is a nonprofit organization that provides innovative running and fitness programs for children and youth in schools, community centers, and affordable housing communities. Our mission is to promote the health and wellness of Chicago children through innovative, engaging, and sustainable youth running programs. We currently reach over 18,000 youth annually, from Pre-K through high school and beyond, in 36 distinct neighborhoods. Through our high-quality, enriching physical activity programs, we aim to enhance the health and wellbeing of Chicago’s youth while developing critical skills for healthy development. We focus programming in under-resourced communities that disproportionately experience health disparities and lack the resources to foster healthy child development.
