The Forest Foundation

About Us

The Forest Foundation provide forestry and natural resource education to over 60,000 of California students and teachers throughout the state. In light of the devastation of large fires such as the Rim Fire, it is more important than ever to engage students on how the well-being of society depends on the health and sustainability of forests. The Forest Foundation is dedicated to teaching the youth of California the important role that forest management plays in maintaining healthy forests and economies.

Our free environmental education programs include the Talk About Trees classroom presentation by local facilitators serving 25 counties throughout the state, outreach at farm days and agricultural events, and free educational materials to educators. TFF also manages The Forest Center, a one acre urban forest at Cal Expo that engages guests on the importance of sustainable forestry. Year after year, visitors come back during the State Fair to The Forest Center. Visitors receive a free tree seedling to plant, learn about the wood products industry, participate in contests for school supplies, or just relax in the shady grove of native California trees.
