World Compass Foundation (WCF) is a nonprofit that drives change by creating and cultivating a community of leaders and investing in impactful businesses, people and ideas.
WCF is based in El Progreso, a small city on the northern coast of Honduras and about a 1 hour drive from the Caribbean ocean.
WCF works primarily in Honduras and currently has 3 areas of focus:
Souldiers’ mission is to use the martial art of jiu jitsu as a transformative tool for positive social change and community-building. Souldiers strives to provide young Hondurans with the training, resources, and opportunities necessary to overcome obstacles and become change leaders in their communities. Essential to the program is an integral approach focused on the formation of the whole person—mind, body and soul.
In 2020 WCF launched the World Compass Business School (WCBS) to train individuals to launch, grow and sustain successful enterprises. WCBS programming is designed to be accessible to all, including those with little to no formal education, and is adaptable to a variety of learning styles. WCBS participants also engage in active-learning through interactive workshops and implementing what they learn in real life.
WCF’s travel program focuses on experiential education, service, and cultural immersion. For 7 days, teams of international participants learn about the opportunities and challenges Honduran communities face while serving at one of World Compass’ community-based project sites. These close-knit teams build greater empathy, cross-cultural understanding and a global perspective.
