U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI) Des Moines
For 100 years the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI), a Washington, DC based agency, has given hope and new life to persons fleeing from war, violence and persecution in their home country. A catalyst for refugee rights and advocacy, USCRI has changed the lives of thousands of newly arriving Americans and continues to do so through various program support.
USCRI Des Moines supports refugees in the initial stages of building their new lives in the U.S. by providing immediate needs, core services, and community orientations. Through collaborative support between USCRI and local groups and individuals, each newly arriving American is given crucial support to successfully adapt to life in Des Moines.
Community involvement is an essential piece of refugee resettlement. You can help refugees transition to a new life in the Greater Des Moines area by volunteering, donating money or goods, or by partnering with USCRI to serve refugees. Many thanks in advance for your generosity.
