Charles County Charitable Trust

The Charles County Charitable Trust's mission is to serve the needs of the community's nonprofit sector by providing grant support, training, and technical assistance. There are over 450 nonprofits that make up the sector, which encompasses a broad and diverse range of missions, including health, human services, education, public safety, arts and culture, environment, and animal rights. We operate with a board-approved Code of Ethics and key policies, including conflict of interest, whistleblower protection, and fiscal responsibility. Through an agreement with the Charles County government, we manage the Nonprofit Grant Awards Program and provide other programs, such as the Presidents' Council and the Nonprofit Funraising and Sustainability Program. Our overall aim is improvement of the quality of life in Charles County. At the same time, we are working to elevate the level of philanthropic activity in the jurisdiction. A keen advocate for partnerships, we have sponsored and facilitated community action to provide a forum on affordable housing and another on community response to trauma.
