    About Us

New Alternatives Inc., Foster Family Agency has served more than 1,000 foster children, youth and non-minor dependents since 1986. Many placements have moved to Guardianship and Adoption within three years. Over 4,500 children in San Diego County need a safe and loving home. We are contracted by the County and receive referrals for children in need of care. We are looking for compassionate and loving adults, single, married, or partnered (21 years or older) to open their hearts and homes to children and youth who need a healing family experience. It takes a variety of families to provide support to foster children and youth of all genders, ethnic groups, and ages in need of parents who will be sensitive to them. Successful foster/resource parents are typically drawn to service and have a heart for vulnerable populations.
