    The Southern Sudanese Community Center of San Diego (SSCCSD) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) founded in 1995. Our mission is to support and empower the Southern Sudanese refugees and other community members’ growth in education, health, employment, and socialization while promoting and maintaining the integrity of their unique culture and heritage. SSCCSD provides a daily after-school tutor program, which offers homework assistance for K-12 students. In addition, SSCCSD provides ESL programs for adults, job placement assistance, and technology access for the City Heights community. SSCCSD currently serves over 320 children and 200 adults on a monthly basis, making us an essential resource to refugees in San Diego and to the general, diverse population in City Heights, San Diego.
