  • Mission

The Brothers In Arms Foundation is a nonprofit public benefit corporation organized under the California Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation Law for charitable purposes. The Foundation was created to honor the legacies of fallen Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines, in coordination with their families, through community outreach and related activities.

    About Us

The genesis of the Foundation is the story of LT Brendan Looney, US Navy SEAL and 2004 United States Naval Academy graduate, who was killed in southern Afghanistan when his Black Hawk helicopter crashed during combat operations in 2010. While in high school and at the US Naval Academy, LT Looney was an active member of the football and lacrosse teams. He recognized the value amateur athletics could play in the lives of young men and women and the unifying effect of amateur athletics among diverse groups of people.

To honor the legacy of LT Looney, and support the lives of thousands of other military men and women like him, Brothers In Arms organizes and promotes events for the benefit of one or more charitable organizations that champion our mission. Our mission is to provide funding assistance to existing organizations where the need is significant with an emphasis on educational opportunities and financial assistance for service members, heroic community servants, and their families. The Foundation strives to increase awareness of the selfless acts of the U.S. military and community servants.
