  • Mission

The mission of Bay Pointe Ballet is to provide entertainment to the wider community through dance performances and an ongoing program of outreach and education with an emphasis on nurturing and fostering creative artistic expression among children and professionals alike. Bay Pointe Ballet prides itself on being a valuable member of our local Bay Area community. We are continually growing in order to reach more people and to enrich their lives with vibrant performing arts.

    About Us

Bay Pointe Ballet is a professional ballet company and dance school based in South San Francisco, CA.

Founded by internationally acclaimed choreographer and director Bruce Steivel and local business woman Sharon Torrano, Bay Pointe Ballet features 32 professional dancers performing locally and touring regionally. Each season Bay Pointe Ballet holds over 20 performances of 4 different productions. We draw an audience of 10,000 individuals throughout the year spanning a wide range of demographics from children to seniors. We also have an outreach program with Community Access Tickets Service to distribute tickets to disenfranchised and low income people who would not otherwise be able to see a live ballet performance. Bay Pointe Ballet performs the majority of our season locally at the San Mateo Performing Arts Center. We also tour our performances regionally. In past seasons we have successfully toured shows to Reno, NV, St. George, UT and Bakersfield, CA. Bay Pointe Ballet has had success staging 7 full length productions and several smaller concerts. Past ballet performances include Coppelia, Dracula, The Nutcracker, Peter Pan, In The Mood, and our annual new choreography showcase New Works.
