Palm Beach County Substance Abuse Coalition

In the spring of 2003, the Palm Beach County Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition (PBCSAPC) was formed as part of the implementation of the Communities That Care® prevention planning strategy. The members of PBCSAPC share this vision: A child, a family, a whole community that is healthy, happy, and drug-free.

I/We, as the undersigned member/agency, agree to fully support the application of the Drug-Free Communities Support Program, administered by the White House Office of National Drug-Control Policy (ONDCP) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), and the vision of the Palm Beach County Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition. I/We agree to play an active role in the prevention and/ or treatment of substance abuse in Palm Beach County and further agree to actively participate in one or more of the following committees: Management Work Group, Funding Work Group, Outreach and Public Relations Team, Community Assessment Team, Community Resource Assessment Team, or the Substance Abuse Youth Coalition (S.A.Y.CO.). I/We will collaborate with the Palm Beach County Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition in our mission involving prevention, peer education, media relations, and programmatic development.

Our common goals are to increase the collaborative efforts among agencies and communities, to educate the public employing science-based programs to prevent the onset of substance use and to reduce the risk factors for adolescent problem behaviors in Palm Beach County, and to thereby lower the number of future substance abusers.
