Habitat for Humanity of Elkhart County builds more than houses. We build homes and we build families. For many of our families, this is the first time in their lives that they are not renting a house or an apartment — or not having to move their family each year when the lease is up — or not having to enroll their children in new schools each year.
Their new house is their home. They helped build it. They own it. They make monthly mortgage payments and pay property taxes and their family, for once, has a stable environment and a place to call their own.
