Fighting childhood cancer with HOPE by 1) Increasing awareness of childhood cancer, and specifically that while more children are surviving their diagnoses, 95% of them are facing a significant side effect by the time they are 45 years old; 2) Providing programs for patients and families currently in the journey; and 3) Funding research in the area of pediatric cardio-oncology which studies the effects of treatments on these children’s hearts.

    About Us

This is Sofia’s Hope 11 th year supporting the childhood cancer community! We provide a helping hand to 2,000 patients & families annually, by working alongside all the South Florida pediatric cancer hospitals & offer 10 different patient/family programs. Our Pediatric Cardio-Oncology Research program is the only one in the nation that focuses solely on pediatric cardio-oncology. Our program has yielded data that confirms cardio-protective drugs can be used to protect our warrior’s hearts, and our annual research dollars supports dissemination of research and information through the First International Pediatric Cardio-Oncology Conference last fall, a new Cardio-Oncology research journal, quarterly webinars, presentations and more. Our mission is to spread awareness &understanding of childhood cancer in our community, provide service and comfort to the children and their families, and to provide much-needed support to research the late effects of treatment. Since inception, we have provided over $1.5 Million in support to the pediatric cancer community.
