The Little Lion Foundation

  • Mission

The Little Lion Foundation is dedicated to rescuing and raising orphaned neonatal kittens and kittens under 8 weeks of age that would otherwise be euthanized at local shelters, as well as queens with their kittens. We provide necessary vetting, spay/neuter and socialization for these cats/kittens. The Little Lion Foundation and its volunteers locate suitable adopters and ensure that cats and kittens are placed in a happy loving home. Furthermore, we provide education to the public, shelter staff, and other rescuers on how to care for bottle fed kittens.

    About Us

We at The Little Lion Foundation believe that Every Cat Deserves To Roar.

The Little Lion Foundation was founded in 2016 to help serve the needs of unwanted and underaged community cats and cats at risk of being euthanized in shelters. We are a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) rescue. We are centrally located in Long Beach, CA and serve the surrounding cities. We rescue as many underaged, orphaned kittens from the streets and shelters as we possibly can. We specialize in orphaned bottle babies, underaged kittens, pregnant and nursing moms, and feral cats. Our hope is to encourage, promote, and support a no kill Long Beach.

in 2019 The Little Lion Foundation Launched The Long Beach Little Paws Project, a project developed to give the tiniest and most vulnerable animal in a public shelter - a kitten under 8 weeks old - a chance to live.

The effort focuses on taking kittens who would otherwise be killed and provides a safe and comfortable environment for them to grow and thrive. Many of these little ones are frail with various medical conditions which must be addressed. These precious little lives must be cared for and nurtured twenty-four hours a day. All these kittens come to us via the City of Long Beach shelter, brought in by the public or by Animal Control, found orphaned or abandoned, some just unwanted. We don’t think just being born should be a death sentence for these kittens! In 2019 alone, we gave 434 kittens whose lives would have otherwise ended there a chance to live!
