Experience Corps is an innovative program that engages Americans 55-plus in vital public and community service. In Minnesota our members help teach children in K-3rd grade in Minneapolis and St. Paul to read and develop the confidence and skills to succeed in school and in life. Members receive pre- and in-service training and then spend 6-15 hours tutoring each week. Those who commit to 15 hours per week become AmeriCorps members and receive a small living allowance. The presence of teams of older adults in a school makes a big impression and positively impacts the entire school climate. Learn more by reading the stories on our website, www.experiencecorps.org. In Minnesota our host organization is Volunteers of America of Minnesota.
