Morton Development Group (MDG) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit driving measurable change in financial literacy, mental wellness, and food access for residents of Detroit and surrounding communities. Each year, we provide tailored financial education to individuals of all ages and abilities.

We deliver targeted support for older adults to protect their economic security, expand affordable housing opportunities, and connect them with coordinated services that enable safe, independent living. Our mobile food pantry distributes thousands of pounds of fresh, nutritious food annually to underserved households, addressing barriers such as lack of transportation and disability. By combining education, housing support, and direct food assistance, MDG strengthens economic stability, reduces food insecurity, and builds healthier, more resilient communities.
