Children's Grief Center of New Mexico
The Children's Grief Center of New Mexico is a harbor in the storm of grief; a safe place to be with others who are grieving the death of a loved one. The CGC offers support groups for children, teens and young adults ages 5 – 25 (and optional groups for their caregivers) who are grieving the death of a loved one. These groups meet every-other-week during the school year. The support groups are facilitated by trained volunteers. Our Four Principles: (1) Grief is a natural reaction to loss of a loved one for children and teens as well as adults; (2) Within each individual is the natural capacity to heal oneself; (3) The duration and intensity of grief are different for each individual; and (4) Caring and acceptance assist in the healing process.
