About Us

The San Antonio Council for International Visitors (SACIV) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), founded in 1989, that facilitates short term professional exchanges for emerging distinguished international leaders, primarily selected by the US Department of State for the purpose of advancing US foreign policy goals and increasing mutual understanding. SACIV members have the opportunity to meet and host these international visitors, helping forge friendships and build bridges. In 2018, SACIV hosted 319 visitors from more than 90 countries, providing opportunities to the community for fostering economic development and cross-cultural understanding. SACIV aims to build international friendships, facilitate the exchange of ideas, foster cultural understanding, and promote San Antonio as an international city.
