International Training & Education Center for Health

The International Training and Education Center for Health (I-TECH) is a global network that works with local partners to develop skilled health care workers and strong national health systems in resource-limited countries. I-TECH promotes local ownership to sustain effective health systems. We are a center in the University of Washington’s Department of Global Health with nearly 2,000 worldwide staff in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Eastern Europe, and the United States. I-TECH works with partner organizations to support the development of health work forces and health delivery systems.

I-TECH works primarily in the following technical areas:

• Health system strengthening

• Health workforce development

• Operations research and evaluation

• Prevention, care, and treatment of infectious diseases
