Center for Action and Contemplation
We are always on the look-out for extraordinary individuals interested in carrying forward the CAC’s nearly 30-year history of helping people discover their unique vocation in service to the world.
Founded by Franciscan priest Richard Rohr in 1986, the CAC is at the forefront of shaping spiritual thought and practice. What began with cassette-recordings and local actions is now a world-class publishing, events, and educational organization that serves hundreds of thousands of people around the globe. CAC programs draw on the contemplative roots of the Christian tradition to address peoples’ innermost spiritual hunger and help them live from their deepest selves. We teach contemplative spirituality, which always inspires compassionate action. Our impact is in creating agents of positive change.
The CAC is headquartered in the peaceful South Valley of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Members of our staff strive for a work environment that mirrors our core values and commitments. We have the opportunity to begin each work day with contemplative prayer (a “practice in failure,” in our founder’s words). We are passionate about growing as professionals in pursuit of the CAC’s mission while remaining grounded by the Franciscan way of simplicity.
We invite all who join our team to practice our core belief that “the best criticism of the bad is the practice of the better,” and to engage challenges and opportunities with an open and creative mind. We welcome and value diversity of age, race, ethnicity, faith tradition, gender and sexual identity, and disability status, and we provide employees with competitive compensation and generous benefits.
