About Us

Created in the fall of 2013, the Center for Communication and Health is a program of Northwestern University’s world-renowned School of Communication. Through education and research, the Center’s mission is to improve the quality and safety of healthcare as patients experience it, to improve the health of populations, and to reduce the cost of care by applying the interdisciplinary tools of the communication arts and sciences to the most pressing challenges in healthcare. Located in Abbott Hall in the heart of the Northwestern medical center campus, the Center for Communication and Health is the first unit to take up residence on the School of Communication’s Chicago campus.
