  • About Us

    Beacon Youth Initiative (BYI) is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-Political and non-religious organization established in 2011 and registered with the Nasarawa state Ministry of Cooperative and Community Development, Ministry of Youths and Sports Lafia, Nasarawa State in 2011, and with the Corporate Affairs Commission in Abuja in 2014. The organization’s primary and strategic focus is on health information on emerging diseases, education, humanitarian services, Drugs abuse & services to improve the quality of life of the poor, hard to reach, vulnerable communities in its target location.

    BYI has been dedicated to advocacy / policy influencing, capacity building, household economic strengthening for women and young people, program / services delivery across the spectrum of HIV prevention, care and support, and Reproductive health promotion services

    BYI is dedicated and committed to promote and improve individual and community education, health in the context of effect of drugs abuse and Viral and non-viral Hepatitis, HIV/AIDS prevention, Malaria prevention, Sexual and Reproductive Health, Orphans and Vulnerable Children, Peace and Conflict Resolution etc through the delivery of quality services that are specific and tailored made for each target group and population, addressing specific drivers of the epidemic and vulnerability factors that influence drugs abuse, and Viral and non-viral Hepatitis and HIV infection, Violent Extremism/Radicalization among target groups. We are member of World Hepatitis Alliance, African Liver Patient Association, Hepatitis B Foundation as well as other international bodies. We work with the poor, the marginalized group and vulnerable groups with the view of promoting values and commitments for achieving a healthy and developed society through innovative programmes and strategic consultations. BYI has over 6 years’ experience working with different donors, partners and relevant stakeholders in delivering targeted responses and services to target groups.

    MISSION

    To work to address health and developmental related problems in the society through active participation/involvement to provide a better, safer and healthier society for the less privilege.

    GOAL

    Our goal is to create an enabling environment where communities will be well informed about their health and developmental needs and taking actions toward confronting the emerging diseases which will lead to a healthy and productive society for the less privilege through active participation, networking and partnering for sustainable development.
