    About Us

    Our Vision

Connecting people through solidarity to be one community.

    Our Philosophy

La Casita centers its work on creating strong, self-sustaining communities of women and men whose members grow through mutual support. Women and men who participate in our programs unite through the Acuerdos, a set of agreements or "points of unity" which guide participants’ interactions with themselves, one another, and the community at large.

    Our History

Recognizing the growing, social, educational, and health needs of Latina immigrant women and their families in Louisville, a small group of concerned women - social workers, teachers, mothers and members of religious communities - sought input from and listened to the concerns of Latina women in order to find ways to address their needs. La Casita was founded in 2005 and officially incorporated in 2006, beginning a new chapter in a rich history of building a movement of Latina women in Louisville, Kentucky. Since its inception, La Casita Center has implemented grassroots strategies to help women access services and overcome barriers to obtaining needed resources. La Casita Center creates community spaces for support, education, advocacy and empowerment and provides programming at times and places most accessible to families in various locations throughout the Louisville Metro Area.
