HARVARD COMMUNITY SENIOR CENTER

  • Mission

The Harvard Community Senior Center serves McHenry County seniors by providing evidence-based programs, services, and social activities at a pleasant, safe, and welcoming gathering place and/or in the senior’s home or other comfort setting. HCSC’s vision of being positive, healthful, and life enhancing includes connections to community based supports and partner programs that improve the general welfare of the senior population.

    About Us

The Senior Center has been in existence for decades, moving from just drop in activities to evidence based programs and services for older adults over the last 5 years. Volunteers are the life blood of the organization and they assist with providing programs, serving on Board of Directors and SAC committee, design, editing, writing and printing the agency’s newsletter (The Senior Sphere), running and participating in fundraising events, small facility improvements-- i.e. painting the donor wall, garden preparation and harvesting, etc., office and administrative tasks, data entry, membership card printing and laminating, capital project design and oversight (for current parking lot project)

We especially need a technology volunteer to oversee our website, e-mail, domains, data base, etc. and have been using a combination of contractors, paid vendors, and staff members who all have a small piece of the techno pie but are lacking a leader to pull it all together for us.
