    About Us

The Bowdoinham Food Pantry is a non-profit charitable organization completely staffed by volunteers, except for the paid director position. We just celebrated our 10th year anniversary at a time when we are serving more of our neighbors than ever. In 2024, we serviced 232 Households comprising of 416 adults and 238 children, and in 2024 we acquired 72 new clients. We made 2,353 visits to homes to delivery food. We obtain food through a myriad of methods including receiving and buying donated goods from Mid-Coast Hunger Prevention Program and Good Shepherd Food Bank (our Feed America partner). We shop weekly to support the pantry which is open to clients Wednesdays 4-6pm, our shut in clients, the Bowdoinham Community School's Falcon Market, and our Weekend Food For Kids program. Benefiting from living in a strong agricultural community, we are supportedf by local farmers and volunteers who glean the fields in support of offering our clients fresh vegetables. We support our operating budget with fundraisers throughout the year, fundraising appeals and estate gifts.
