The mission of The Arc of Greater Cleveland (The Arc GC) is to empower persons affected by I/DD through advocacy, education and promotion of activities that improve quality of life for individuals and their families.
For over fifty five years, The Arc GC has been an independent advocate for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). The Arc GC is the only independent voice in our area fighting for equal rights and access to services for people with I/DD in general, not highlighting or advocating for one specific population of individuals with disabilities. The goal for The Arc GC is to help individuals and families affected by I/DD to not only find the resources to have their basic needs met for safety, support services, free and appropriate public education (FAPE), financial assistance, housing, employment and health care, but also to empower families to take those issues into a policy-making realm.
