About Us

MISSION STATEMENT:

Teenshop empowers girls with goals to become caring, courageous leaders and change agents in their communities and beyond.


Teenshop, a volunteer-based organization, was founded on June 15, 2015 by Elleanor Jean Hendley, an Emmy Award-winning former CBS 3 TV broadcast journalist. Teenshop chapters meet on Saturday mornings, 10AM - 1PM, from September to June on the school year calendar, Each of our five chapters - Los Angeles, California, , Camden, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - is directed by a five-member leadership team of professional women. Our programming is a series of life skills workshops, college preparation including campus tours, educational and cultural activities. Special programs and activities include a Women's History Month Leadership Luncheon, Shoes for Life Community Service Project, Children's Holiday Party, and Services for Seniors. All graduates matriculate to college or professional schools.
