The Salvation Army of The Harrisburg Capital City Region

  • Mission

The Salvation Army of Harrisburg is a unit of the international Salvation Army, an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. The mission in the capital area is: (a) To preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and provide facilities for public worship; (b) To reach out and serve those who have spiritual or material needs, without regard to race or religious creed, through spiritually motivated, professionally designed and administered human service programs which meet unfilled and changing needs; (c) To actively seek and encourage the broad, active and consistent participation of the community.

We are dedicated servants motivated by our love of God to provide a broad focused, front line, adaptable approach to serving our ever changing community with compassion, dignity and respect, helping to impartially move those we serve from dependence towards wholeness as we endeavor to build up body, mind and spirit.
