Our Mission: Women’s Global Leadership Initiative develops knowledgeable and skilled women leaders — women who defy limits to transform the future and ignite change.

Our Vision: To build an army of emerging and mid-level women leaders in every corner of the globe.

WGLI is a 501c3 established in 2008 and has served more than 12,000 women in the US, Eastern Europe, Latin America and Turkey. Summary: Started as a grassroots organization, WGLI is a 501c3 nonprofit organization whose mission it is to build community and responsibility among women, empower communities, and directly address the gender and pay inequities women continue to face. Aware of the lack of opportunities available to women to improve their quality of life, WGLI aims to democratize women’s leadership development by providing women with access to essential leadership programs and opportunities for organizing and engaging at the local level.

Through these engagement strategies, WGLI helps ignite localized movements to educate women in various communities around the world. WGLI’s success is thanks in large part to our ability to mobilize these local communities, giving them both the knowledge and the means to focus their collective efforts on creating long-term, sustainable improvements in women’s opportunities. WGLI engagement strategies see our partners reaching out and recruiting community stakeholders to invest in the economic advancement of women in their communities, building local momentum for women’s leadership. Stakeholders who provide vital support include: Foundations, City Governments, Workforce Development Agencies, Women’s Professional Associations, and Advocacy Groups. Leveraging the power of collective effort and focus is critical to producing a greater impact and lasting change. WGLI is a non-profit organization, founded in 2008 and dedicated to unlocking the leadership potential of women who want to make a difference.
