The Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus (BNMC) is a multi-anchor collaborative driving urban innovation in partnership with the community to reimagine our city’s future through the dynamic intersection of technology, health, discovery and collaboration.

We do this by asking how we can better further the economic growth of our member institutions and partners, ignite urban revitalization, and build a strong thriving community.

Created to leverage economic opportunity for the greater community, the BNMC has seen $1.4b in public and private infrastructure investment in the past 10 years, growing from 4.5m sq ft to 9m sq ft of clinical, research, and development space - and by nearly 10,000 employees – and is home to thriving cluster of 150+ life sciences, bioinformatics, technology, manufacturing, energy, social innovation companies and not-for-profit organizations. 

We take a “city within a city” approach to test new, innovative models for energy, transportation, and infrastructure, using smart urban design to create a healthier community with economic opportunity for all.
