With a range of different programs, Junior Achievement teaches about concepts from microeconomics and macroeconomics to free enterprise to students in grades K-12. The volunteers bring real-life business experience and guidance into the classroom. JA is fundamentally a volunteer organization where dedicated individuals give their time in the classroom to educate young people about what it takes to succeed in the real world. JA volunteers offer experience‑based learning by giving students the opportunity to interact with them.
The concepts taught in JA programs enhance the curriculum taught in schools. Concepts relating to financial literacy, entrepreneurial skills and workforce readiness are often not taught in the home or in schools, increasing the need for these themes to be brought to the students. JA's materials, which include workbooks, study guides, lesson plans and interactive activities are the best available and have been adapted for today's digital environment. They are provided at no cost to the students. Each of the JA programs are revised regularly to ensure timeliness, relevance, and accuracy of content.
