About Us

BookCare is a pioneering non-profit organization with a singular focus: promoting the therapeutic potential of literature in mental health wellness. Our core belief is that mental health and self-help books, properly curated and utilized, can provide essential support in managing mental health issues and improving overall emotional well-being.

BookCare was established out of a need to create an inclusive platform for mental health support, one that goes beyond traditional modalities. Our origins may be humble, but our goals are ambitious. We advocate for bibliotherapy, a distinct form of therapy involving the reading of specific types of literature, particularly mental health and self-help books. This approach can empower individuals to reflect on their experiences, gain new perspectives, and develop strategies for emotional growth.

At BookCare, our mission is two-pronged. First and foremost, we aim to educate the public about the therapeutic benefits of bibliotherapy. By shedding light on its practical applications, we hope to broaden the understanding of mental health support and destigmatize mental health conditions. Secondly, we are committed to providing accessible bibliotherapeutic resources to those in need.

Our vision is a world in which mental health and self-help books are recognized and accessible as a source of comfort, resilience, and personal insight for everyone. A world where bibliotherapy is integrated into mental health practices as a powerful complement to traditional therapies. We invite you to be part of our journey at BookCare.
