SHAMROCK CLUB OF WISCONSIN INC

MILWAUKEE, WI

  • Mission

Founding and Purpose: The Shamrock Club of Wisconsin was formed in 1960 by members of Milwaukee's Irish community who wanted to promote their Irish heritage.

    About Us

The Shamrock Club is the oldest American membership organization in the State of Wisconsin. In 2025, we celebrate our 65th anniversary. It was founded on March 17, 1960, in Milwaukee.

Currently, there are chapters in Milwaukee, South Central, Dane County, Green Bay, La Crosse and New London. Statewide chapters hold monthly meetings, organize St. Patrick’s Day parades, change the city of New London to New Dublin for the week, raise the flag over the State Capitol, as well as other Irish related activities.

All of our chapters are involved in fund-raising and have donated thousands of dollars to numerous causes in the past five decades.

The Milwaukee chapter each year sponsors the Downton Milwaukee St. Patrick’s Day Parade, the annual Post Parade Party and Mass in Honor of St. Patrick in March of each year, usually the weekend prior to St. Patrick’s Day. Additionally, our annual birthday party is the first Thursday in March.
