Clinton Path Preschool
Clinton Path Preschool in Brookline Village is a high quality, community based parent cooperative preschool founded in 1972 by a group of parents and teachers. It is an independent, non-profit preschool housed in St Paul's Church. The school currently serves 18 children per day ages two to five years in a mixed-age, play-based program. The school’s emergent and play focused curriculum aims to introduce children to group life, helps children develop satisfying and joyful friendships, and developing respectful feelings towards themselves and others. The classroom environment is arranged to support free choice and focused activity; teachers encourage children’s interests by offering experiences and materials that build on previous play. The co-op environment allows parents to remain a strong presence in the school. As co-op members, parents perform diverse administrative and maintenance tasks, participate in planning and policy-making for the school operations and finances, and have access to a community of families and teachers. The school welcomes parental visits at any time and encourages parents and siblings to join their children at lunch, providing a relaxed opportunity for discussion with other parents or teachers. The pre-school community benefits from close interaction with parents and teachers. Clinton Path Preschool is currently searching for a new Director/Teacher to share in the teaching responsibilities with two other teachers and to have responsibility, with support from volunteer parent board, for the administrative duties of the school.
