Caritas Aotearoa New Zealand

Caritas is the Catholic agency for justice, peace and development. The role of the agency is to deliver aid, support development, and work for justice in New Zealand and abroad.

Caritas works to make a real difference in the lives of people living with poverty or injustice:

•We support locally run community development projects among poor communities in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Pacific. These projects address the causes of poverty and lift the standard of living; •We fund emergency relief work following major disasters; •We work to change the structures which cause poverty in New Zealand and overseas; •We help New Zealanders understand the causes of poverty and injustice, and keep them informed of current aid, development and justice issues.
