About Us

The Reher Center fosters belonging by engaging all people through culture, community, work, and bread. Together, we preserve and explore our historic bakery site and honor its legacy by amplifying Kingston and Hudson Valley immigrant voices and contributions, past and present.

The Reher Center is a museum and cultural center located in the buildings that once housed working-class housing and the Jewish immigrant family-run Reher's Bakery.

We bring diverse communities together to share and celebrate their unique cultures and stories. Inside this preserved 19th-century building and 20th-century bakery, you’ll find the legacy of the Reher family at work in new ways.

Through historic bakery tours, innovative exhibitions, and special programs, we amplify the contributions of immigrants past and present. Families engage in hands-on activities, students learn about their roots, and individuals share traditions as we break bread together.
