Our members, volunteers and leaders come from across the political and religious spectra. We care deeply about Judaism and the Earth, believe in both education and action. Founded in 2001 and incorporated as a 501(c)3 nonprofit in 2006, today Aytzim hosts 5 projects:
* EcoJews (aka EcoJews of the Bay) runs Jewish-environmental social activities in the San Francisco Bay Area.
* Green Zionist Alliance: the Grassroots Campaign for a Sustainable Israel, works to protect and educate about the environment of Israel and the Middle East.
* Jewcology: Home of the Jewish Environmental Movement. With more than 1000 blog posts, pedagogical materials, and a job board, Jewcology.org is the largest online resource for information on Jewish environmentalism.
* Jews of the Earth leads regional advocacy and environmental-action activities in the greater Washington D.C. area.
* Shomrei Breishit: Rabbis and Cantors for the Earth. More than 100 Jewish clergy, including chief rabbis, have joined this environmental-project that Aytzim runs in partnership with GreenFaith.
