1.2 OPERATIONAL STRUCTURES

There are three basic structures .The general assembly, the executive bureau and the management committee. There is an elected chief executive officer with an assistant.

1.2.1 GENERAL ASSEMBLY This organ is charged with the responsibility of deliberating on all-important issues concerning the smooth functioning of the organization. It censors the executive bureau and management committee. It may admit, discipline and sanction members who go contrary to the rules and norms of the organization. It can amend the statues of the group. It is the highest organ of the group and shall elect and check the chief executive officer CEO of the group. 1.2.2 THE EXECUTIVE BUREAU It implements the decisions of the general assembly. The bureau may initiate projects, which are submitted for studies and approvals by the general assembly. 1.2.3 THE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE It oversees the executive of the projects. It is responsible for the allocation of resources and also ensures the sustainability of projects carried out. It is responsible for the coordination of the technical services of the organization. 2.1 GENERAL OBJECTIVES OF THE GROUP The group intends to alleviate poverty through sustainable development projects in the area of education, counseling, identify the blind, the handicapped, the abandoned children as well as widows and most importantly provide health facilities to the people concerned. 2.2 SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES -To encourage cooperation amongst the members in the rural communities. -To encourage women and youths to be active in decision making in their local communities. -To encourage and rehabilitate the physical handicapped. -To reach out to the rural woman, the abandoned children on the streets and help reduce their economic dependence on the men who are sometimes even poorer. -To provide a better health in the community through education and provide the provision of some basic needs to the poor and needy. -To educate the population on good feeding habits, help create an awareness of the HID/AIDS pandemic and provide education on STDS and other common deadly diseases such as malaria, T.B, cancer etc 2.3 GROUP ACTIVITIES Since its creation, the organization has been pre-occupied with the production of food stuff such as maize, beans, plantains, cocoyams and vegetables. These are consumed locally and sold to buy other goods that are not produced locally like rice, palm oil, salt and general provisions. Members are encouraged to use improved seeds, fertilizers and learn sag storage conservation techniques. We have been using government extension workers, NGOs and other resources that are always inadequate to solve the ever-increasing rural community problems. Infact the daily routine of an average villager is very disturbing and gives a sordid picture of hand to mouth existence in an abject poverty. It should be noted that less than 20% of the population barely has good water, less than 5% has access to health facilities and the food supply is dwindling in front of an ever-increasing population. PROJECT DESCRIPTION The area is a typical village side and is far from administrative assistance. There are very scarce health facilities, inadequate education and schooling has just become a thing of the past. The result is that the people remain in abject poverty, poor health, poor nutrition and lack the basic facilities like light, water and to keep the engine of life moving. Creative aptitudes of young children die early because they are not encouraged leading to their frustration and the end results is death. One of the greatest difficulties of this organization is having to deal with the problem of disabled people as thousands of them are found in these local communities. The means at our disposals is not that can handle every problem squarely as it is normally supposed to be. Sometime you find yourself in the mists of thousands of handicapped persons but with very little to contribute to their well being. Amongst these disabled people, there are the blind, the deaf, the dumb, the abandoned children, the abandoned widows to themselves and their kids. From our findings and investigations, some of these abandoned children can still be useful in our society if we take upon ourselves the commitment of counseling and assisting them. We need trained counselors who can really talk to these children. The handicapped though registered with the government are hardly attended to due to the slow nature of Cameroon administrative procedures. Some have ended up dying without having attended to. Economically. Increase revenue and alleviate poverty amongst the rural peasantry of Belo area. Socially. To encourage the disabled to mix freely with the understanding that they are useful both to the society. Health wise, create an awareness of the disease prevention and cure shall be achieved.
