About Us

Adventures in Writing Camp is a two week day camp program designed to help elementary students have positive, confidence-building experiences with writing. During camp, lessons are delivered as songs, students work with teachers and college-student counselors to create their own eBooks, and new writing skills are practiced by writing rap songs. Adventures in Writing Camp has over 15 locations in the Bay Area and over 25 around the Western US.

The curriculum was created to include a variety of learning styles, from auditory learners to kinesthetic learners to more traditional learners.  This Common-Core aligned program was created by Stanford-educated author/educators Jennifer and Hans Hartvickson, in conjunction with numerous local teachers, administrators, and musicians.

The program is designed for students entering grades one through six, and camp hours are 9am to 3pm. Additional “after care” hours are frequently available at most locations.
