About Glen Foerd

The mission of Glen Foerd on the Delaware is to connect visitors to the legacy of Glen Foerd through programs in the arts, nature and history and to preserve and protect the landscape, buildings and collections for the enjoyment and enrichment of the community and future generations. The historic estate is a public park owned by the City of Philadelphia and managed and operated by the Glen Foerd Conservation Corporation. The site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and the Historic American Landscape Survey.

Located on 18-acres at the confluence of the Delaware River and Poquessing Creek, Glen Foerd is Philadelphia’s northern gateway along the Delaware River and is a trailhead for the North Delaware Riverfront Greenway. The estate is ideally situated to heighten awareness of, and appreciation for the ecological, historical, recreational, and economic significance of the Delaware River and the Poquessing Creek Watershed. The combination of its waterfront location, historical context, cultural landscape, and significant art collection offers an exceptional opportunity to explore the intersection of art, history, horticulture and the environment.
