About Us

We are a not for profit in Edmonton, Alberta.  Our mission is to 'rescue' fruit that grows in the city and that is excess to homeowners needs and use it for food.  We started in the fall of 2010 and since have made jams, jellies, condiments and sauces.  What makes our product unique is that 60% to 100/% of the fruit content is 'rescued' fruit.  We compost, recycle and reuse wherever possible with the goal of being environmentally responsible.  We offer work experience to those who do not fit into traditional job placements due to language, health or other barriers.         In 2015 we started Project Fruit Stars as another way of fulfilling our mission of having excess local fruit used for food.  In our first year of R & D, we made over 13,000 individual healthy apple snacks that we donated to E4C for the school lunch and snack program that they provide in over 20 high needs schools.  We made applesauce, apple chips and fruit leather that were packaged in individual portions with the help of many volunteers.
