The H2O4CO2 project, initiated by MadAvance in
partnership with SaniTap Limited, aims to rehabilitate a total of 4,000
water points in Madagascar. The project includes an initial phase to rehabilitate
522 water points in the Anosy and Analanjirofo regions, and a
longer-term objective to rehabilitate a further 4,000 water points,
thus making a significant contribution to improving sustainable access
to drinking water for local communities, with an expected impact for more than
64,837 people. This innovative public-private model also guarantees
infrastructure maintenance for over 15 years, financed by
subsidies and complemented by the sale of carbon credits in line with
Gold Standard methodology, supporting the reduction of emissions from drinking water.
