About Us

Our Mission

To inspire and empower children, from diverse, under-served communities, to practice possibility thinking and to become leaders by creating meaningful Goals of Contribution, both now and in the future.

Geri and Harry Berholz launched Future Possibilities Canada in 2001 after being inspired by the program that was then operating in New York. Since 2001, more than 3000 children and adults have participated in FPK’s one-of-a-kind community leadership and life skills development programs delivered to children and youth, ages 9-12 years old, in Toronto and the GTA, Ontario.

Organization Description

Future Possibilities for Kids is a local charity that focuses on building leaders across the GTA. In our upcoming 2017-2018 program year, we are aiming to serve 200 children across the Toronto and York Region. Our team of KidCoaches are currently being trained to inspire, guide, and support each child through our leadership program and, ultimately, through the accomplishment of a “Goal of Contribution” that will benefit their community. In doing so, our Future Possibilitarians, who come from some of the most underserved communities in the Greater Toronto Area, develop a strong sense of self-worth, an optimistic approach to life, and concrete social skills that

will set them up for success.

We have two main programs:

Ready Set Goal!

In our Ready, Set, Goal! program, Kids ages 9 to 12 years old are matched with trained

volunteers called KidCoaches who provide one on one support through weekly phone calls and during Activity Days. Kids create a Goal of Contribution and are coached through the process of delivering it, usually involving friends and families.

Camp Contribution

Camp Contribution is a two-week summer day camp for Kids ages 9 – 12. This camp is special in that it empowers Kids with the opportunity to make an impact by igniting the belief that they can make a difference in their community. Here, Kids will engage in many fun and interactive experiences that allow them to gain a better understanding of their community and make a difference.
