About Us

Since 1984, Inner Voice’s mission has been to support Chicago’s socially and economically disadvantaged persons in their quest to obtain self-reliance and a place to call home. Our goal is to help homeless individuals and families transition from shelter to self-sufficiency by linking them to programs and services that result in the attainment of permanent housing - thereby stabilizing their lives.

Inner Voice operates seven interim housing facilities for families, one for veterans, one for single men and three supportive housing programs for persons with disabilities. To further support clients in achieving self-sufficiency, we offer an array of social services to help them overcome barriers to housing and employment.

Our programs are primarily funded through the City of Chicago and federal and state grants; however, we also rely upon the support of local foundations, businesses, churches, service clubs and individuals who share our commitment to end homelessness in Chicago.
